"The Zen Lodge is a great retreat/reunion spot -- our family has enjoyed it twice now. The space in this home is lovely -- clean & ample, with a Great Room perfect for relaxing together, playing games, and fixing family meals. Four bedrooms are large & private (the master suite is wonderful with an elegant bathroom and a wonderful deck for morning coffee or other times), and then there's a bunk room, loft, and other nooks & crannies for an extra bed here and there (we've taken a tent & put it on the deck for younger members). The view of the river / hills / sunrise / sunset from the decks is gorgeous and so peaceful! The home is well-equipped, including 2 refrigerators and lots of DVDs. You could stay in or venture out: it's a quick run to some great beaches on Lake Chelan... or the Blueberry Farm in Manson for breakfast... horseback riding at the Whistling Pines Ranch in Pateros or a ferry ride to Stehekin. "We were a group of 15 people (4 families with kids) and wanted to go on a vacation and wanted to ensure all age groups are equally engaged and hence chose Lake Chelan. The next big thing on our mind was a cozy place to stay and we are very glad that we chose Zen lodge. It is a great water front location on the Columbian river and at a very convenient location from Lake Chelan. Four families with kids had a very comfortable stay at the location. The Lodge is very spacious and is well maintained. Two master bedrooms has great water front view and patio on the 1st and 2nd floor is a great place in the morning to sip a cup of coffee and relax. Kids were very comfortable in the Bunker beds which ensured that the adults got their time. For families with younger kids, there is a portable Crib that we used and my kids were comfortably sleeping in that. Kitchen, fridge and the storage area were very spacious and met out needs. In the night we did a bonfire in a dedicated place in the lawn which was fun. While, the water sprinklers in the lawn, started automatically, while we were donig bonfire and was a little challenging for us to learn on how to switch them off. Make sure you know the information on how to switch this off when needed. Couple of enhancement that I would suggest for the location would be to add a swimming pool if possible so that kids and adults can have some more fun in the indoor water. Also, having a railing around the property will ensure additional safety for the children (though there is a virtual railing buit with rocks). This was not an issue for us, but would be a good thing to have complete peace of mind, whent the kids are out in the lawn. "It had been a stressful couple of months of school, and my boyfriend and I decided to rent the House on Lake Cavanaugh for the weekend. My was this a beautiful place with an extraordinary view! This was a perfect way to end the quarter. Nice open windows that opens to the dock is sure to please. The house was gorgeous inside and out. "We decided to have our wedding at the Zen Lodge. Honestly one of the best spots in the Washington area. It was everything we had hopped for and more. We had enough room for our families to stay there, and enough room to entertain our guests. The option for the I-pod hook up through the house was amaizing!!!! "Zen Lodge was the perfect place for an all girls 4 day get-a-way. There was plenty of room for the 9 girls that stayed all nights and plenty of room for 14 total to play games at the kitchen table, lay out in the sun in the GORGEOUS backyard, great location for long walks with a view of the river the entire way, and close enough to jaunt into the cute town and lake of Lk Chelan. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen fully loaded, and the outdoor area is beautiful. For us old 40 yr old ladies, that all went to high school together, the Zen Lodge was just what we needed (no kids, no husbands, no laundry, plenty of wine, lots of reminiscing, and yummy meals spent outside along the river). "Zen lodge is the perfect get aways for a small team. My management team and I stayed for a week and it was the perfect place to re-group and organize and put a business plan in place for the coming 18 months. The great room provided an excellent work space but then all of us retreated away to our own rooms. Each one provided the comforts of home yet the luxury of a great resort. And being from Seattle the in-house espresso machine provided a welcome "perk" every morning and through out the day. I would suggest Zen lodge to anyone!
